Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to begin their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might seem out of place, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, striking the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could enable the team enter places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in search of Casimir.
